• The threat detection engine and threat data have been updated.

• On Mac OS X version 10.8 (Mountain Lion), the SAV OS X installer will download a full version of SAV OS X when it performs its first auto-update.
• (DEF89762) The Scan now with Sophos Anti-Virus item in the Finder contextual menu may sometimes not be displayed correctly.
• (DEF79904, DEF79750) On Mac OS X version 10.4 for PPC, the scheduled scan window may sometimes not update correctly.
• (DEF79931) On Mac OS X version 10.4 for PPC, Scan Local Drives may sometimes not update correctly after the scan has finished.
• (DEF79975) When a custom scan is selected in the Scans window, the Edit > Delete menu item remains disabled. The delete [-] button remains enabled.
• (DEF79939) After running a scan from the contextual menu in the Finder, the View Scan Log button is enabled, but clicking on it does not display the log. The log can still be viewed from the console.
• (WKI71917) An issue with Mac OS X version 10.7 can cause SAV OS X updates made through a Windows 2003 Server Apple File Protocol (AFP) share to fail.
• (WKI63005) On Macs that are managed by Sophos Enterprise Console or Sophos Control Center, that are running Mac OS X version 10.6, with the Mac OS X firewall turned on, and “Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections” selected, the firewall might display dialogs that ask if you want to deny or allow incoming connections for SophosMessageRouter and SophosManagementAgent. You should click Allow.
• (DEF47186) On Mac OS X versions 10.4 and 10.5, if you click the Sophos Anti-Virus icon on the right-hand side of the menu bar, and then choose Scan Local Drives from the shortcut menu, in certain cases, either nothing happens or the Choose Application dialog appears. • (DEF35773) On Mac OS X Server version 10.4 with a non-UTF-8 filesystem on Intel, if an infected file contains non-ASCII characters in its filename, in some cases Sophos Anti-Virus:
  • Cannot delete the file
  • Can copy the file to another folder to prevent it being run but does not delete the original
• On OS X 10.4, if the immediate scanner moves or copies an infected file to a quarantine folder, the action is intercepted by the on-access scanner. This is because Spotlight indexes the quarantine folder when a file is quarantined there. To work around this, in the Spotlight preferences, put the quarantine folder into the list of excluded folders.
• If you make any of the following configuration changes in the Sophos Anti-Virus updating preferences pages, they do not trigger a differs from policy alert in Sophos Enterprise Console:
  • Disable updating from a secondary location.
  • Set the primary or secondary proxy to either Use System Proxy Settings or Do Not Use Proxy.

• For new installs, two different installers are now available for Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X. One installer is compatible with OS X, versions 10.4 to 10.7, and the other is compatible with OS X, version 10.8 and higher. You can select and download the installer you need at http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/downloads/standalone-installers/anti-virus-for-mac-os-x.aspx. To access this page, you will need to be logged into a valid MySophos account.

• After you install Sophos Anti-Virus, the Scan with Sophos Anti-Virus command is not immediately contained in a Finder shortcut menu. It appears when you log in to your Mac again.
• After you uninstall Sophos Anti-Virus, the Scan with Sophos Anti-Virus command is still present in a Finder shortcut menu. It disappears when you log in to your Mac again.
• In Sophos Enterprise Console and Sophos Control Center, you can set up email alerting for Virus alerts, Scanning errors or Other errors. Mac OS X computers do not support the Scanning errors option and therefore do not send these alerts.
