Known issues

End user device

SMS icon on Android devices after refresh

After a Sophos Mobile Control SMS has been received and processed on an Android device and data has been refreshed, the SMS icon remains on the device display. The icon indicates that an SMS has been received although the relevant SMS has been processed and deleted.

Sophos Mobile Control web interface

Exception on empty tables

If you click the >> button on an empty table, a “div by zero” exception occurs.

Special characters

On some pages, special characters (like ä, ö, ü) may not be displayed correctly.

Device names in Internet Explorer 8

If you use Internet Explorer 8 and import a device list with devices that have the characters ä, ö or ü in their name, the device names are not displayed correctly in the Sophos Mobile Control web interface.

Device reports

If you create a device report as a Multi Tenancy Admin user, the insert date is included, but it is not shown in the column definition (header).

Send SMS

If you want to use the Back button on the Send SMS page, you have to enter text in the message box. Otherwise, going back is not possible.

Task archive

If you select the All select check box and afterwards click Refresh, all devices are deselected. The All select check box remains selected.

No device inventory or traffic counter graphics in Internet Explorer

For displaying device type information as graphics in the Inventory or Traffic Counter menu, a browser with SVG support is required. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer (all versions) does not support this out of the box. Please install Acrobat Reader 9x to get an Adobe SVG plugin. You can also install any other SVG plugin.

Sophos Mobile Control Customer Wizard

In the Customer Wizard, you currently cannot delete existing customers from the database. If you want to remove a customer, remove all devices and all users for this customer in the Sophos Mobile Control web interface. The customer will remain as an orphan.

Sophos Mobile Control administrator guide

The following is not described in the Sophos Mobile Control administrator guide:

Device list import button

Press the import button showing an arrow symbol to import new devices through a .csv file format. A sample file with the correct column names and column order can be downloaded from the import page. Device types must match the naming in the new device wizard. All groups in the import must have been created in administration web interface. The import shows all errors in the import file. The errors must be corrected before the import process can be executed.

Toggle button for activating/deactivating E-mail access

With the toggle button showing an envelope symbol in red or green, the administrator can allow/block access to E-mail.
