Installation

Sophos Secure Email is installed from Google Play.

Known issues

App continues to show container policy check screen at start due to network connections problems or connection losses

On some devices and in very rare occasions it may happen that the app keeps showing the initial policy check screen at every start. This may be caused by a poor network connection with recurring connection losses.

Solution: Remove Sophos Secure Email from the Android list of recent apps and restart it.

Attachments of appointments are not available

Opening attachments of appointments is not supported by the ActiveSync protocol. See the Microsoft article Exchange ActiveSync doesn't download attachments to Calendar items on mobile devices (2503175).

Sophos Secure Email seems to be stuck in the registration screen

In rare cases it might happen that Sophos Secure Email is stuck in the registration screen during the initial enrolment. After re-starting the app, enrollment works fine.

Solution: Remove Sophos Secure Email from the Android list of recent apps and restart it.

PDF documents cannot be viewed with the Google PDF viewer app

Currently, pdf documents cannot be opened and viewed with the Google PDF viewer app.

Solution: Use another pdf viewer app to view pdf documents from Sophos Secure Email, e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Fingerprint authentication not working on some Samsung devices running Android 6.x

Some Samsung devices don't support the standard Android fingerprint API introduced with Android 6 (seen on a Samsung Galaxy S5 and S5 mini running Android 6.0.1). On these devices the fingerprint authentication is not working. This issue can only be resolved by Samsung with a future OS update for these devices, where the official Android fingerprint API might be supported.
