Sophos Enterprise Console Deployment Packager release notes

Version number

Deployment Packager 1.1.0.5

About the Sophos Deployment Packager

The Sophos Deployment Packager creates a single self-extracting archive file from a set of Sophos Endpoint setup files, for installing Sophos Endpoint Security and Control (SESC) on client endpoints.

The Deployment Packager Guide is available from the Sophos website (http://www.sophos.com/support/docs/Deployment_Packager.html).

System requirements

The minimum requirements to run the Deployment Packager tool are as follows:

You should also be aware of system requirements for the packaged endpoint components. See http://www.sophos.com/products/all-sysreqs.html.

Known problems

  • (DEF57803) Installing SESC twice on an endpoint may cause an error if Sophos update is running.

If you accidently run a packaged installer twice on an endpoint or run an installer on an already-protected endpoint, and an update is in progress, a Visual Basic script error may display. There is no effect on installation.

  • (DEF76225) A runtime error may be displayed when you try to create a package using command-line with an obfuscated password, -opwd command. If the error message is displayed, ensure the obfuscated password is correct. If it is accurate and continues to display the error, enter a plain text password using the -pwd command or use the Deployment Packager user interface.

Additional information

The parameter -ouser is not supported by the Deployment Packager.
