  • Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV) for NetApp service and MMC snap-in reliability improvements.
  • Support for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2.

Fixed issues

  • (DEF54352) A SAV for NetApp MMC snap-in error after removing a scanning machine.
  • (DEF54355) The font in the SAV for NetApp MMC snap-in changes so that the text no longer fits into the Properties dialog box for an AV machine.
  • (DEF55604) The SAV for NetApp MMC snap-in crashes when a new AV machine is added to the list.

Known issues

  • On a Cluster-Mode scanner the antivirus logs show paths that are accessible only from the scanner machine. For more information about this issue and how to work around it, see knowledgebase article 120963.
  • When connecting to a scanning machine from multiple SAV for NetApp MMC snap-ins and then switching to Clustered Data ONTAP mode, only the first snap-in is updated.
  • If the SAV for NetApp service starts or stops too slowly then the Start and Stop buttons in the Administer AV machine dialog box remain disabled. A workaround is to close and re-open the Administer AV machine dialog box.

Troubleshooting

  • The 7-mode filer console displays a message "Error 5 ...Continuing".

This is a warning that the anti-virus scanner has prevented access to an infected file.

  • When an infected file on the filer is accessed from an anti-virus server, the virus is detected and, if disinfection is selected, the file is disinfected, but statistics for the anti-virus server are not updated.

In this case, the filer doesn't send a request to the anti-virus server to scan the file. Therefore, the statistics are not updated. However, the virus IS detected and, if disinfection is selected, the file is disinfected.

  • A firewall on an anti-virus server or computer running the MMC snap-in can block communication between the anti-virus server and the filer, or between the computer running the snap-in and the anti-virus server(s).

Make sure that the Sophos Anti-Virus for NetApp Storage Systems executables savnaser.exe and savnammc.dll have access to any other anti-virus servers, the filer and the computer running the snap-in.
